Marty Cooper placed the first call on a cellular network from downtown New York on April 3, 1973. Now, after 50 years, the Tesla Science Center (teslasciencecenter.org) is preparing a major event to commemorate the anniversary on April 3, 2023.

The aim is to install a plaque on the exact location where Marty Cooper stood during the historic event (https://celebratethecall.com/).

The WCA has been included in the hosting committee responsible for organizing the event.
