MBDA: MedWeek 2020

The U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency  is the only federal agency solely dedicated to fostering the growth and global competitiveness of U.S. minority business enterprises.  For more than 50 years, MBDA has helped minority-owned firms gain greater access to capital and contracts, build scale and capacity, and expand into new markets.

AAAED 46th National Conference


Our Kickoff session begins on June 23rd and the official conference occurs on October 7th. In between these two events there will be virtual sessions/webinars, in the place of the concurrent sessions that were part of the Washington, DC in-person conference. The AISES National Conference

The AISES National Conference will continue as a one-of-a kind virtual event on October 15 – 17 with some preconference events on October 14. The conference will include most of the traditional in-person activities through the virtual platform including networking suites, an opening ceremony, sessions for all tracks, research presentations, Indian Country’s largest College and Career Fair, and so much more. As a virtual event, AISES can provide conference attendees new ways to safely network, learn, and interact with all conference attendees and presenters.

ABRCMS Goes Virtual


ASM and the ABRCMS Steering Committee have made the difficult decision to move ABRCMS 2020, scheduled for November 11-14 in San Antonio, Texas, to a virtual meeting.

The ongoing spread of COVID-19 is a serious concern for us all, and its implications have substantially affected the logistics of holding the upcoming ABRCMS 2020 in person. The health and safety of our meeting participants, staff and service partners, is our highest priority.

We have notified speakers, poster presenters, exhibitors and attendees of the cancellation individually and shared specific details they will need.

Plans are currently underway to host ABRCMS: The Virtual Experience, November 9-13, 2020. Check their website frequently for updates on the virtual conference, including the schedule at a glance, which will be available on July 30.

HACU 34th Annual Conference

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced more than 50 workshops will be offered virtually under the theme, “Championing Hispanic Higher Education: Fostering Excellence and Social Justice,” as part of its 34th Annual Conference, October 26-28, 2020. A virtual exhibitor experience will also be included.

General conference workshops will include topics of interest to Hispanic-Serving Institutions, offered under six tracks. A separate student track will be offered for undergraduates under HACU’s ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute, taking place Oct. 25-28.

Special features of the conference will include the following: Opening Plenary with HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores who will deliver the State of HACU, an International Plenary focused on “International Education: What’s Next after COVID-19?” and a Town Hall that will feature discussions on the topic of “The 2020 Presidential Election: Its Impact on Latinos and Hispanic Higher Education.” HACU will also recognize honorees that have contributed to improving opportunities for college students.

Out to Innovate™ 2020 is a Joint Virtual Event with oSTEM’s 10th Annual National Meeting

oSTEM and NOGLSTP are collaborating this year to present a joint event focused on LGBTQ+ people in STEM. We are both excited to share with you the oSTEM 10th Annual Conference and NOGLSTP’s Out to Innovate™ Out to Innovate 2020 Summit. With this collaboration will will present programming of greater depth and variety, binging more members of our LGBTQ+ STEM community to our conference than ever before. The details of the broadcast have yet to be fully finalized, so stay tuned for how to participate in the event which will take place November 12-15, 2020.

The National Association of African American Studies’ Call for Papers!

The National Association of African American Studies are calling for papers and presentations for their 29th National Virtual Conference on February 15-20, 2021. Papers must be submitted by November 14th. See below for all of the paper requirements. For more information, visit their website here.

Flyer for the National Virtual Conference Event: Abstracts, not to exceed two (2) pages, should be submitted that
relate to any aspect of the Hispanic and Latino experience. Subjects
may include, but are not limited to: immigration, migrant workers,
interracial marriage, education challenges for the non-documented,
community crime, health care, discrimination, impact of Affordable
Care Act, reducing racial/ethnic gaps, children and families, Dream
Act, and other topics. Please indicate the time required for
presentation of your paper (25 minutes OR 45 minutes).
